Telangana state is on the path to pioneer inclusive and sustainable sanitation for all. With 49 established SHE toilets and 19 mobile SHE toilets, women sanitation workers have been given an increase in monetary benefits. The state has also leveraged gender intentional sanitation initiatives through women entrepreneurs in partnership with WE-HUB and MEPMA. The state has put into place a pro-poor tariff structure for its desludging rates. Throughout the pandemic, women and sanitation workers have been at the forefront of receiving adequate PPE gear.
